How long does the juice last?
Our juices are pressed while raw and never pasteurized. They start losing nutrient value after three days. Drink your SOHO Juice Co. juices within the date specified on the bottle for maximum freshness and nutrition.
SJC Juices can also be frozen within the three day life span and defrosted when ready to consume. Be sure to consume your juice immediately after it has defrosted.
Where are your juices produced?
All of our cold pressed juices are produced daily on site at our South Tampa location in Hyde Park! We even have a window for you to see the process… Come by, grab a juice and watch us produce Tampa’s best cold pressed juice!
How is SOHO juice different from store-bought bottled juices?
Simple: our juices are never heated or pasteurized, nor do we add any sugars or preservatives. Pasteurized juices are perhaps the biggest wastes of money at health food stores. Pasteurization involves the heating of a food substance so that any harmful bacteria is killed, which is a good thing, but the problem is this: it also kills virtually all of the beneficial bacteria while severely compromising nutrient quality, leading to a “dead food” feel and even taste. The complex nutrients and microscopic compounds and antioxidants responsible for much of their healing powers are destroyed or severely compromised, which is a very bad thing.
There is also a new pasteurization process called High Pressure Processing (HPP): HPP is a method of food processing where food is subjected to elevated pressures, with or without the addition of heat, to achieve microbial inactivation or to alter the food attributes in order to achieve consumer-desired qualities. In essence, this is a “pasteurization” process that allows companies to change the molecular structure of their juices in order to increase the shelf life up to 30 days… Do you want to drink a juice that is 30 days old?
SOHO Juice Co. juices are only available a maximum of 3 days from creation. In fact, most of our juices are consumed prior to ever hitting the 3 day mark allowing for a superior juice product with maximum nutritional value. SJC juices are the closest thing to eating a raw vegetable or fruit!
Why is it so expensive?
The answer is simple: quality ingredients – and a lot of them. A single bottle of SJC Juice contains somewhere between three to five pounds of fresh organic produce.
We use ingredients of uncompromising quality. They’re fresh, locally-sourced and organic whenever possible – not to mention varied to balance the flavors and nutrient profiles of each of our juices.
In addition to the cost of the quality produce, the cold pressed process is very labor intensive to produce. SJC juices are a labor of love and we want to keep them that way!
Why plastic bottles?
Have you ever tried to purchase a cleanse of glass-bottled juices? The bulk and weight certainly makes carrying them difficult, and makes grabbing a juice as a quick and easy meal replacement a little less attractive. In addition, glass bottles require a lot of resources to produce, ship and deliver!
All of our bottles are are made with PETE 1 (polyethylene terephthalate) and BPA-free. We use PETE 1 bottles because they are the most easily recyclable and don’t produce any “leaching” effect. In fact, SJC bottles are never heated up and always stored in a climate controlled environment!
SOHO Juice Co. has made a conscious effort to bring you the most practical and environmentally friendly bottle out there!
